Heavy Duty Poly Storage Tanks - Bailiff Enterprises
Double Wall Plastic Storage
Tanks - Choice of Plasic Resins
...
We make an extended range of
double wall chemical storage tanks. Our tanks of
3,000 gallons and below can be made from High Density
Polyethyelene (HDPE), from Polypropylene and from
Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF). The best known brand
name for PVDF is Kynar. The two most common reasons for
choosing a particular resin other than polyethylene are
the need for a higher continuous use temperature and
compatibility with a particular chemical. You can check
the
chemical compatibility of the chemical you are
storing with our tank resins by

Polyethylene is the
most common choice because it is compatible with a wide
variety of chemicals and it is the least expensive
choice. The primary limitation of Polyethylene is the
upper continuous use temperature of 130 degrees F.

Polypropylene is the next most popular
selection. It is often chosen when a continuous use
temperature of up to 200 degrees F. is needed.
Polyprolylene is also compatible with some chemicals
that do not play well with Polyethylene.
Rotationally
molded Polypropylene is brittle so care must be taken to
keep it from impact.
PVDF
(polyvinylidene
fluoride)is a great resin since in certain applications it
has a continuous use temperature of nearly 300 degrees
F. PVDF has good chemical compatibility. The limiting
factor on PVDF for Double Wall Storage Tanks is that
PVDF is expensive. Consequently, PVDF is selected only
when the storage application requires the special
properties that PVDF brings.
